S U M M E R A T B E R N H E I M
Having just celebrated the completion of my second year as Executive Director of Bernheim, I must admit that it is the experiences available in the summer at Bernheim that have captured my heart. During July, August and September – nature just cannot contain itself! From the pineapple lilies and lotus flowers in our gardens and fountains, to the purple coneflowers and monarda lighting up the Big Prairie, the landscape is splattered with every color. Add to this the combined motion of hummingbirds, Northern Orioles and Bluebirds protecting their nests and feeding their young, and the energy of nature becomes contagious. I shouldn’t even mention the dozens and dozens of species of butterflies, dragonflies and beetles (perhaps numbering in the hundreds of species) that are observable on a typical day – lest we all become overpowered. Summer is a great time to form deep connections with nature.
Summer is not summer without family and friends enjoying special events. Be sure to join us for the Old Fashioned Family Picnic, BugFest and our wonderfully weird CONNECT at Bernheim. These are all great events, particularly if you want guests to experience some of the best this region has to offer. Every summer day is different than the next at Bernheim. Come out and connect with nature.
